Together for the Earth

In partnership with our supplier, Lyreco, we have just set up a collection and recycling solution for masks at the end of their life.

In the entrance hall of the company’s headquarters is a collection box.cartonEmployees can drop off their masks and those of their family members in order to act jointly for the environment.

100% of the mask is recycled and used in the manufacture of new products :

  • Blue part: the polypropylene contained in the blue part of the masks is used to manufacture new products in recycled plastic.
  • Nose bar of the mask : the metal of the bar is sent to the metallurgical industry.
  • Elastics : the elastane is incinerated to be used for public heating.

The project was a great success, thanks to the support of the employees.

Shooting photo

New photos for future collections

Our creative teams have immortalized the future collections of our linen brands.

This third lock-down started with a photo shooting session. The settings and locations were adapted to the current sanitary situation.

The destinations were less exotic than usual, but the result is up to your expectations thanks to the professionalism of our creative teams.

A studio in Lille served as the setting for the Winkler office and table ranges.

The Vivaraise household linen took up residence at the 48° Nord hotel at the foot of the Vosges mountains, where even the snow was present at the beginning of April. An ideal setting for the fall/winter collection.

The brand Ateliers du linge was put in the box in our historical studio in Strasbourg.

A big thank you to the stylists who gave life to all these scenes. Beautiful parentheses that mark the launch of the layouts of our communication tools.

Can’t wait to see the result ? So are we !

See you in one month…

French art de vivre

Local know-how promoted

Winkler favours short circuits and French manufacturing.

silk-screening workshop for table and kitchen linenThe vast majority of the brand’s printed tea towels are made in France, using an ancestral technique: screen printing.

This know-how, increasingly replaced by digital printing, is the signature of Winkler products. An incomparable rendering for a technique perfectly mastered by the men and women working in a workshop located in the north of France.

workshop screen printing and french know-how kitchen linen

Passionate people with whom the creator of the collections, Corinne Infantes, spends several days developing the new products for each collection. It is in the “colour kitchen” that the shades are concocted and the designs come to life thanks to the formulas developed on site. Alchemist’s recipes that make a yellow brighter, a blue deeper, a red greedier. It is thanks to the know-how of these teams that the magic happens. From an illustration and a piece of fabric is born a unique silk-screened piece that will join the collections of other pieces of memories, symbols, traditions or French emblems. In this workshop, each person is an expert in his or her trade. From the exposure of the frames for silk-screening to the making of the aprons and tea towels, including the application of the different layers of water-based inks, each operation is done by hand with the shared desire to create quality products.

A result so “French art de vivre”, don’t you think ?

Sde is by your side in the process of a more responsible decoration.

Like the fashion industry, the home linen sector has been undergoing a transformation in terms of sustainable development for several years now. This transformation is accelerating by making responsible consumption a way of life.
What does this mean for the Sde group brands ?

Vivaraise ensures that its collections are free of harmful substances by subjecting them to OEKO-TEX certification controls.
This certification guarantees consumers that the product does not represent any danger to their health or skin. An additional quality endorsement for the brand’s linen range: European Flax. It guarantees local agriculture that respects the environment : zero irrigation, zero GMOs, zero waste. Flax exclusively produced in France certifies the traceability of products from the Vivaraise range.

Recycled textiles or textiles made in France for Winkler : the brand is committed to creating a range in recycled cotton, cotton made with fabric scraps crushed to obtain fibres. A process that slows down the consumption of water and insecticides since the cotton off-cuts are no longer waste, but become a form of raw material.
The use of recycled cotton thus limits the pressure on arable land.

When in 2019 the Winkler brand merged with “T&B maison”, the French manufacturing specialist, it took a radical turn by favouring the promotion of local know-how through short circuits. The Winkler house creates collections that enhance our heritage and bear witness to the technical mastery of local textile workshops. It collaborates with talented illustrators and applies its “French art of living” through motifs from our gastronomic and cultural heritage. The illustrations are hand-drawn, with preference given to natural materials. All the prints are silk-screen printed to preserve the brightness of the colours. The inks are water-based and contain no solvents or phthalates. They guarantee a very good resistance to washing, light and rubbing. From creation to the finished product, all the French textile know-how is present.

All Ateliers du linge bed linen has had its plastic packaging removed since January 2021. It is a packaging entirely designed by our marketing team that you will discover in the shops.
The brand does efforts in terms of sustainable development by bringing out a range of bed linen sets in organic cotton for the beautiful days.
Cultivated naturally, without the use of chemicals, organic cotton helps to clean up the soil but also to save water reserves. Organic farming, thanks to its irrigation technique, requires half as much water.
Ateliers du linge does not intend to stop there and continues its daily efforts to accompany its customers towards an ever more reasoned consumption.

The ecological locomotive is well under way, the Sde brands are on board. There is plenty of improvement, but the desire to multiply these initiatives is clearly present. We are convinced of the need to involve you in these issues because it is collective action that will enable us to live in a more responsible world.
